Despite the global effort to eradicate polio myelitis that launched in 1988, this dreadful disease is still endemic in two countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan). It primarily affects children and can cause lifetime paralysis and even death.

The local Rotary Clubs in Corpus Christi began an effort in 2018 to join together to raise money and awareness to end polio.  The annual event is held the end of October around  World Polio Day, October 24th.

This year, we will be Pounding the Pavement for Polio, October 18 – 25, 2020.  Choose when, where, and how far you walk.  Upload your photo afterwards to be included in our unique video.

Join individuals from all over the globe in this effort.  We are in this together, and together we will End Polio Now.

No medals will be given.

Instructions for submitting time and other items, or see videos below: From your confirmation email scroll down to the "Manage Registration" button. You will then be able to...

• Print out your race bib before you run/walk
• Upload your finish results 
• View race results
• Print out finisher certificate

Shirts purchased prior to October 1st will be available pick up for the runners registered in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi (921 N. Chaparral, Ste. 210): October 12-14, 10 am-4 pm. If unable to pick up on the scheduled days please call 361.882.8672 to arrange another time. Shirts will be mailed out to the runners that paid for shipping:  Week of October 12th.

Runners that registered after October 1st and paid for shipping will be mailed their shirts sometime after October 25th (we will email everyone with this information closer to October 25th). Location/Date/Time for runners that paid for a shirt and chose local pick up is to be determined (we will email you closer to October 25th with this information).

All proceeds raised benefit The Rotary Foundation’s Polio Plus fund.
