Run the Runway
Enjoy a scenic run or walk on one of the airport's runways and explore the world of aviation, including up-close views of planes, trucks, special vehicles, and more! A 1K Kids Fun Run will kick off the race, followed by an out-and-back 5K walk or run.

- 1K – 7:45 a.m.
- 5K – 8:00 a.m.

- Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. @ Corpus Christi International Airport – 1000 International Dr. – 1st floor
- Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 6:30 to 8:00 am @ Start Line

About Wings of Texas
Wings of Texas works to make the Coastal Bend a more inclusive place to live, work, play, and learn for people of all abilities!
Wings of Texas is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to making our community more accessible for people with disabilities. We were founded in 2014 as an adaptive running program by Rusty and Michelle Jones - parents of a child with disabilities who were concerned about the lack of inclusive opportunities for community engagement and socialization once their son aged out of the school system.
Today, Wings of Texas has grown to include multiple adaptive sports programs (running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, and bowling) and a variety of community-oriented activities & training opportunities all aimed at demonstrating the basic idea that #inclusionmatters!

We love this race but 1k runners/walkers take long and the race ends up starting after 830 (at least last 2 years). This makes for a hot run. Just suggesting an earlier start time for 1k, maybe 730. Also, a huge tent for participants afterwards to get away from heat. This may encourage people to stay for pics, food, drinks and awards. There is hardly any shade and we are fighting for it near the planes. Just a suggestion for future runs at this venue. Thank you!!
