About Wings of Texas

Wings of Texas is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization working to make the Coastal Bend a more inclusive place to live, work, play, and learn for people of all abilities! We are  dedicated to making our community more accessible for people with disabilities.

Our story began in 2014 as an adaptive running program by Rusty and Michelle Jones - parents of a child with disabilities who were concerned about the lack of inclusive opportunities for community engagement and socialization once their son aged out of the school system. Today, Wings of Texas has grown to include multiple adaptive sports programs (running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, and bowling) and a variety of community-oriented activities & training opportunities all aimed at demonstrating the basic idea that #inclusionmatters!
