It is inexplicable that the race did not begin at 7:00 AM. The lack of adequate cooling stations and shade led to numerous athletes experiencing distress at the finish line and on the course. Moreover, the female trainer's refusal to permit athletes to seek refuge under the tent, instead directing them to their own tent over 100 or more yards away, was unacceptable in cases of heat exhaustion.
